Dance + Film

Screendance is an opportunity to combine the technical possibilities of film with the embodied lineage of dance to create a third thing, a hybrid medium with new possibilities and landscapes. Makenna has been creating screendance since 2018, when she filmed and installed an underwater dance installation at Hampshire College, and has since gone on to produce, direct, and film screendance on 16 and 35mm.
